Bronx House Summer Day Camp – Rockland County, NY
Bronx House Summer Day Camp is seeking a qualified medical professional to serve as our Camp Health Director for the summer season. Candidates with experience in pediatric, school, or camp health settings are strongly preferred, though other relevant experience will be considered.
Position Dates & Schedule:
- June 29 – August 19 (7.5 weeks).
- Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- $50/hour.
- Transportation provided daily from the Bronx to camp (if needed).
Qualifications
- Must be one of the following (or eligible to obtain NYS credentials where applicable):
- Physician (MD/DO).
- Nurse Practitioner (NP).
- Physician Assistant (PA).
- Registered Nurse (RN).
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
- Valid New York State license or certification, or ability to obtain one.
- Experience working in a camp, school, or youth-focused setting preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Camp Health Director.
- Review camper medical forms and establish individual medical logs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked infirmary.
- Provide daily medical care to campers and staff.
- Work closely with the camp supervisor and first aid assistant.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation for all visits.
- Administer medications in accordance with the physician's standing orders and camp policy.
- Attend staff meetings as needed.
