Bronx House Summer Camp Counselors will be responsible for managing campers daily during activities and on field trips. This position runs 7 ½ weeks from June 30-August 19. Mon-Fri, 8 am-5:30 pm.
Salary: $2,750 for the summer.
Job Details:
- Ensure that age-appropriate activities are implemented for youth, grades 7-10.
- Build positive relationships with campers and staff.
- Actively engage with campers while they are participating in the activity.
- Encourage youth to participate in all available activities actively, promote respect and teamwork.
- Prepare campers for Bronx House culminating activities and events/performances.
- Provide a safe, structured environment for student learning.
- Attend all required trainings/meetings.
- Maintain appropriate use of equipment, reporting necessary maintenance and updates regularly to the Unit Leader.
- Accompany and supervise students on field trips.
- Interact with parents and keep open lines of communication to better understand and manage children.
- Participate in the total camp program including, late or overnights, all-camp events.
