Bronx House is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Lifeguard/Swim Instructor to ensure a safe and engaging pool environment for our community. This role combines lifeguarding responsibilities with teaching swim lessons for individuals and groups of all ages.

Responsibilities:

Monitor pool and surrounding areas to ensure the safety of all swimmers.
Enforce pool rules and respond promptly to unsafe behavior or emergencies.
Perform water rescues and provide first aid or CPR as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe pool environment, including checking equipment and water quality.
Complete incident reports and communicate safety concerns to management.
Teach swim lessons to individuals and groups of various ages and skill levels.
Demonstrate proper swimming techniques and correct student errors constructively.
Track student progress and communicate updates to parents or guardians.
Maintain a positive, encouraging, and safe learning environment.

Additional Responsibilities:

Assist with pool setup, maintenance, and closing procedures.
Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Promote a welcoming and professional atmosphere for all pool patrons.

Requirements:

Strong work ethic and professionalism.
Excellent customer service and leadership skills.
Comfortable interacting with children, adults, and seniors.
Certified or experienced Swim Instructor (WSI preferred).
Certified Red Cross Deep Water Lifeguard required.
Punctual and reliable.
Must meet minimum age requirement for state lifeguard certification
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Perform light cleaning as needed.
Well-groomed and presentable.
